How about Son of Psycho?

How about they do another sequel? Norman is long dead. His son is fully grown, and yes, he has the "psycho seed" just like Norman was afraid of.

I really don't know how it would all play out, but I did think of one detail that could make for a really crazy idea.

We're all used to Norman talking to his mother's dead body, well what if Norman's son did the same thing, but instead it was FATHER, and talked to Norman's dead body? So they could get someone who could mock the voices of anthony perkins, telling the boy to kill.

This time around, the boy doesn't dress up as his father to kill, however. Unlike Norman dressing up as mother, the son of psycho kills on his own, but still talks to the corpse of Norman. And Norman tells him to kill, as well.

At the end I figured the Psycho son could die, be shot by police. Thus forever, and finally, truly ending the Psycho legacy, and killing the seed.

I actually wrote a fan script for PSYCHO V. It had Norman, his wife Connie and his son moving away from Fairvale and the motel and house being bought as a tourist attraction. However, the motel and house don't attract any visitors and keeping them open is costing the town alot of money. Meanwhile, five teenagers go on a vacation to Hollywood and their car breaks down and they stop at the motel. They convince the man that runs it to let them stay there even though it's now a tourist attraction. The man that runs it suddenly gets an idea to pay one of the teenagers to go missing so that people will become interested in the house and motel again after 28 years of the last murders taking place. The five teenagers agree on this because they need the money to get to Hollywood. The girl that pretends to go missing then gets murdered by an old woman in black and one by one the rest of the teens are killed off until one is left. In the end it turns out that the killer is one of the teenagers who thought that they would get paid more money if people were actually killed. That's my own storyline for PSYCHO V.

That's pretty cool man, mind if I play off your idea?

What if you made it so that one of the teens turns out to be Norman's son who was born at the end of Psycho IV? And of course its also found out that Norman has since passed away.

I don't mind and that's a great idea, actually. Thanks for contributing but I doubt that a fifth movie will ever be made.

Haha yeah, it wont be. Probably better that way, but we can dream!!!

Apparently a Psycho V or Son of Psycho was going to be made in the late 90's but that unfortunately turned into Psycho 98...which definitely marked the end of the psycho series completely.

Yeah that's what it says on Wikipedia but I'm pretty sure that's not accurate. Why would they make a fifth movie after Anthony Perkins died? And PSYCHO IV really brought closure to the series and the character of Norman Bates, he finally put Mother behind him and was able to move on with his life and have a son but PSYCHO V could work if the right director and writer were involved but after the remake was a critical failure, Universal probably won't make another PSYCHO film.

I thought it would be more interesting if he had a daughter instead, and Norman would treat his daughter the way Norman's mother treated him, and when the daughter was grown up she would kill men instead of a guy killing women. Sort of like the movie "Repulsion."

I agree, if the film was made correctly with the right director & screenwriter, Psycho V could be a great film.
I like the plot the above poster mentioned, about Norman's son growing up to be psychotic and talking to Norman instead.

An interesting twist would be if Norman had had a DAUGHTER instead! How would that play out?

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

It will probably be as sh-tty as SON OF MASK :D

That's exactly where I thought they were going with the ending of this film but then it didn't happen and the remake was made. It would've been an interesting film to see but oh well. At least we have the first four to keep watching.

I think Norman having a daughter who kills men would be better.
