Connie is a real piece of work, isn't she?

Setting aside the unlikelihood of Norman being released to begin with, never mind being engaged in a healthy sexual relationship, my biggest stumbling block is how utterly daft his wife is.

She's a doctor, but just up and decides not to believe the scientific evidence that Norman's form of mental illness is hereditary. So that when her husband clearly states he does not want to have children because of the risk of his child inheriting the family curse, she lies to him that she agrees and is taking the pill, all while secretly aiming to get pregnant. Now, obviously Norman should have got a vasectomy, but it's still an egregious act on her part.

Then he plans to kill her, and comes very close to doing so, but she just shrugs it off and carries on with him?

Yeah these are things I had never thought of before, still a good movie but man... Connie sucks.

However, in terms of the story, I believe that Norman and Connie happily raised a child after this, a child who grew up A-OK. At least I like to think it was a happy ending. We had seen Norman suffer so much, and he would have never killed again post-Psycho if it wasn't for Lila and Mrs. Spool driving him insane.
