Why didn't they make a real sequel to this?
The straight-to-TV third film we got was awful and they recast all the actors. Why did they do that instead of doing a legit third film, with the same actors?

shareUniversal sued Michael Oliver and his family not too long after the film was released. The story Universal gave was that the night before filming was to begin, Michael's mother threatened that they would walk unless they Michael was paid more, or something along those lines. This pretty much put an end to the kid's career, and to the Problem Child series. Though, I have my doubts that a third film would have been made considering Problem Child 2 only made about half of what the first film did.
