I don't think Bodhi died.

He's somewhere in New Zealand right now (he has made it), while the Keanu Reeves is in prison for obstruction of justice.

reply

James Cameron has said that Bodhi dies at the end.

reply

Well it's not for him to decide unless he shows it in the movie, and he didn't.

reply

he couldn't make there too treacherous.. plus you got the cliffs.

reply

People have crashed and survived Nazare and Teahupoo, but yeah, I think he died.

reply

it basically did show it. It was certainly a lot more heavily implied that he died than survived

But he contributed to the script, so I believe what he said.

reply

Well, James Cameron has also said Terminator Genesys and Dark Fate were "good movies" at one point in time.

reply

I think he's got a pretty good right to say Bohdi died when he was the executive producer and the then husband of the director. Plus it's just poetic he dies chasing his ultimate rush.

reply

he also co-wrote the final script with her, just uncredited.

Bodhi is a replicant

reply

Not a replicant, a Cylon! He was Daniel, the 7th model!

reply

That last scene was set in AUSTRALIA, which is not very far from NZ.

And Swayze died of pancreatic cancer, not lung cancer.

Australia is over 1,300 miles (over 2,100 kilometers) from New Zealand. http://www.mapcrow.info/Distance_between_Sydney_AS_and_Auckland_NZ.html

reply

Yea, so the big waves carried him the 1300 miles to New zealand. Its not impossible

reply

It's impossible for him to survive on a board from place to place.

reply

But wouldn't the waves protect him from the sharks?

reply

But the sharks would've protected him from schools of man-eating tuna.

reply

I didn't know New Zealand waters had man eating tunas

reply

That's because only few have escaped from the Tuna , and the tales are of but legend.

reply

This whole theory sounds fishy to me.

reply

Can it, mate

reply

Like in a Sardine can mate?

reply

Obviously

reply

Holy Mackerel, I'm glad we agree:)

Fish joke

I sense that this tread is floundering:(

reply

I dunno, I'm having a whale of a time.

Bodhi is shown falling off his board before the wave has broken and turned to white water. He is also seen body surfing the wave after parting with his board. I think he body surfed the wave all the way to shore, bro. The movie left it up to the viewer what happened.

reply

I wonder if that was done intentionally so they could keep the option of a sequel open?

reply

The movie seems to imply that Bodhi died because there was no way he would have survived those waves.

If that is true, it kind of changes the ending. If Utah hadnt tracked Bodhi down, Bodhi still would have gone into those exact same waves and he still would have died, but Utah would still have his badge.

reply

What do you think he did, paddled to New Zealand?
