Who wins in their prime: S. Seagal or Jean Claude Van Damme?

If there was a movie where they were both in their prime, which character would conceivably (forget the writer's determining the outcome) have the advantage?

Segal is bigger, but JCVD seems more powerful, no?

Seagal would destroy Van Damme, plain and simple. Van Damme might get a few decent lucky punches in or maybe even a roundhouse kick just busting seagal's lip maybe, but ultimimately Seagal would dominate the fight like he always does and beat Van Damme perfusely, and in one last desperate attempt to win, Van Damme would punch Seagal in the nutts and attempt to roundhouse kick him again and Seagal would catch his leg and snap it in half.

This is an excellent question. As much as I love Seagal, and as much as I hate Van Damme, I'd say Van Damme would win easily. He was far more athletic and powerful than Seagal.

JCVD looks like he's got the better body, so you'd think he'd win. But in actuality, all he's really got is those kicks w/ one leg - that's it! I'm not a Seagal fan, but seeing the stuff he did in this movie, I think he'd fight dirty if he had to - anything to win. So I'd put my money on Seagal - in his prime over JCVD.

I like Seagal more, but I think JCVD would win if we're looking at them in their prime. Bloodsport is enough evidence, JCVD fought guys just like Seagal in it.

Van Damme would probably knock Seagal out with a head kick or make him give up with body punches. Seagal's best chance would be to get close to JCVD and neutralise his striking while using some dirty boxing of his own.
