Uncut Version?

Hi Everyone,

I read this on the alternate page about the laserdisc version:

The U.S. "R" rated version is cut. Several cuts were made to insure a "R" rating instead of a "NC-17". A number of cuts were made during the finale. The thug the Gino shoots with the shotgun in the knee's death was cut. And Richie's death was also cut. The Uncut, Unrated Version is only available on Laserdisc.

Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have the laserdisc?

Thanks

While I don't have the laserdisc currently, I was a long time owner of the Warner Bros. US release and it was definitely the standard R-rated cut that's been put out on VHS and DVD. I, too, would love to see an even harder version of the flick, and so I'm hopeful that perhaps there is a Japanese or similar overseas laserdisc release that may have expanded graphic content. Sadly, however, the US laserdisc is not the one to search for.

The DVD-R2 version contains thses scenes you described however the runtime is ~87mins and not ~91mins

I do not know what is uncut on that ~91mins as the ~87mins seemed pretty much uncut/unrated to me

The drop in runtime for the feature on the R2 DVDs is being caused by the video being converted from NTSC to PAL which has less frames per second which renders the movie with about a 4 percent decrease in runtime. This is true for all films converted from NTSC to PAL.

There is an 87 minute version of the film up on YouTube. Would anybody be able to tell me what points in the film I need to skip to to see the footage that's cut in the U.S. version. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
