Deleted scenes from original cut + extra scenes from TV version
Out For Justice was originally longer and perhaps even more violent.
Warner Brothers studio people and Seagal weren't happy with first cut of the movie, so editor Michael Eliot cut the movie to make it faster. It's also worth mentioning that he was the same editor who edited original cuts of Mark L. Lester's Showdown In Little Tokyo (1991) and Wes Craven's Deadly Friend (1986), each for different reasons.
William Forsythe himself mentioned in interview that movie was originally going to be a lot more violent and that Seagal cut some of Forsythe's scenes out.
Movie was originally rated NC-17 by Motion Picture Association Of Asholes. Cuts were made on these scenes; Meat cleaver in the hand during the butcher shop fight, leg getting blown off during the final shootout, final fight between Gino and Richie and Richie's death scene (corkscrew in head). Were this cuts put back in for some unrated edition i'm not sure. Some say there is uncut version, some say there isn't since Warner Bros didn't bother with releasing it.
Deleted scene - After killing woman in the car, Richie enters in some shop to get a new shirt since his got blood on it. After getting a shirt, alarm goes off and he shoots it. Removal of this scene caused continuity mistake in normal version cause he wears different shirt right after his first few scenes. This deleted scene was used in TV cuts of the movie and can be seen at 00:36 seconds mark of original theatrical trailer. Here's the link; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sofOFmNm4LE
And here is the scene by itself, notice how bad some of the sound and dialogue is, profanity word that Richie says is edited out and sound effects of gun shots are very poor. Reason why this scene was never finished properly is because, as it's well known, movie was heavily edited in post production by Seagal and Warner Bros. studio in order to be shorter and therefore more succesful, and because basically they wanted usual fast paced Seagal movie; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUrBR5Mt8CU
Night time montage scene is put together from several deleted scenes; Gino talking with his police captain, later he also talks with his mob guy friend, Richie screaming at his thugs while they are in the car, police raids on strip clubs ect... Note - almost every time when you see older action movie that has montage scenes,you can be sure that there was some cutting and editing made in post production. Montage scenes can actually be usefull cause they often cut let's say 10 minutes of plot down to couple of minutes.
Deleted - Richie and his thugs break in Gino's wife or Bobby Lupo's wife house but they are not there. Instead they are hiding with kids in bathroom. While Richie searches for them and then tries to break into the bathroom, some neighbours show up and enter the house to help the two women but Ritchie threatens them and then leaves with his thugs. This scene was also used in TV cut. You can see that scene here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkUuSe_v_zY One lobby card shows picture on which Gino's wife is talking with some cop so perhaps there was another deleted scene after this one where she reports what happened.
Deleted - Theatrical trailer also shows scene where Gino and his captain are talking about "body count going up". It looks like this was originally part of the scene after Gino finds Richie's girl Roxanne dead. Check the theatrical trailer from above at 1:16 seconds mark.
Near the ending, right after they got into the house of Richie's old girl for the second time, there is few small shots of one of the Richie's thugs Bobby Arms (one dressed in blue) touching his head which has big bloody scar, and holding something with blood on it. We never see how he got hurt in the movie, but maybe there was scene deleted where Richie hits that guy with his gun while they are driving in the car right after they killed mob guys in bar.
Closing credits sequence shows some unused scenes with Seagal, like him exiting the car with shotgun right before entering Roxanne's building. This is very obviously something that Seagal put in the movie just so he could get even the last few seconds of screentime.
Some alternate takes with less violence and profanity were used in TV versions of the movie. For example, check out this alternate scenes used in TV version; Scene where Richie hires two thugs from the street to help him out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q2427Suj2o and bar scene where Richie meets up with his brother and after beating him up he and his thugs kill few mafia guys who are searching for Richie; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jveMwcNkh8s
Some Spanish lobby cards show few deleted scenes;
Ricthie shooting in the clothing shop where he gets new shirt, Gino's police captain looking at dead body of Richie's girl Roxanne, this was probaly after the scene where he arrives and Gino asks him "did you had breakfast this morning cause it's not pretty sight", and Gino's wife with their son talking with uniformed cop.
