Useless Trivia about the colleges involved
This movie was shot at North Texas State University, now renamed the University of North Texas. At the time, there was no Texas State.
One of the teams that "Texas State" plays in the film was Southwest Texas State University. Southwest Texas State University has since been renamed Texas State.
So now there is a Texas State, but it is not the college in the film. But the college did appear in the film.
