one of the most underrated movie ever

This movie has everything to it. An underdog storyline, a true villian, bull riding, football, bar fight, 40 year old college student, Rob Schneider, an armadillo mascot, and Kathy Ireland.....this movie doesn't need anything else!!

You might be right geatlife1798 it definitely is underrated, I remember watching it as a kid and laughing hysterically @ it. Sinbad was great, he still amazes me to this day that he can make me laugh without cursing. The blog Every Game Counts, named it as one of the greatest college football movies of alltime. http://www.everygamecounts.blogspot.com/

This movie rules. Rob Schnieder is the best in it.

It's is a great movie, that is really underrated.

Hey, if it's got Scott Bakula in it..........I'm there! That guy can read the phone book and I'm riveted!! If the movie's about football and he's wearing football pants, well, that's just that much MORE reason to watch! Definitely a favorite to pull out on a lazy weekend afternoon when my husband's playing golf.

Scott Bakula is under-appreciated. He got no credit in Lord of Illusions, they just know him as that guy from Quantum Leap. But this is seriously one of my favorite movies of all time. I loved the early 90's and this is one of the reasons why. Just look how bad The Replacements is compared to this movie. Times due make movies, and these are some crappy times my friend.

It's cool seeing Knocko, aka Leatherface, aka LATTIMER! play a goofy cowboy role instead of his ultra serious steroid type roles.

I just watched this one again on HBO or whatever. It is totally awesome and actually stands the test of time pretty well. Some movies don't age well at all, but this one ages superbly.

Yes it is a very good movie to watch and I loved it so much I bought a DVD version of the movie. The only thing I feltthat they could have done to add a little spice into the movie is a scene where the team goes to a strip club. That would have been perfect for the movie instead of the bar scene where it leads to a fight with a rival team.

Oh and by the way meledstick! Scott Bakula is starring in a new film called The Informant that takes place in my home town of Decatur,Illinois where I grew at. It is based of a true story that happened back in 1994. I thought that I would let you know about it!

I love that Rob does his "copy guy" bit in this. A totally oblique reference.

I'll agree that it's better than the Replacements but the most underrated...Don't know if I can go that far. It had it's moments and was funny but I still think it was an average movie. Maybe because of judo chopping linebacker or the kicker who kicking form that was all wrong. I just could not get over that. I still laugh at it though, so it must be alright.

I enjoy this movie every time its on. A great cast of characters.

Underrated? Yes. Most underrated of all time? Probably not. I'd give this movie a 6.5. Most overrated movies of all time include "The Hangover", "SuperBad", "Anchorman", and "The Wrestler".

Those movies are pretty much forgotten today. I love ten year old posts. I love commenting on dead posts from other websites. This place is fun.

It had a lot of funny lines, like that fat guy saying something incoherently to the Marine Corps guy at the start.

Papke- "I thought, I thought you were gonna do one of those"

What?

I agree, I love the movie.

Watching this again. My only beef with this otherwise excellent movie is the occasional over the top campy scene where an otherwise grounded film derails into Leslie Nielsen territory. I remember watching this movie back when it came out, back when lots of movies were like this, and it didn't feel odd. But looking back now... we have a real movie with a solid story, that's also a little bit Police Academy and little bit Major League. Feels a little like they were checking boxes looking to get a hit. Nostalgia covers all that up real good. But I wonder what today's new viewers think of this. Boy did I have a crush on Kathy Ireland.
