I love the part early in the movie when Vada comes home and starts singing "Wedding Bell Blues" to her class picture. Mr. Bixler has a heart drawn around his head, and instead of looking at the camera (in the photograph), Vada is staring lovingly at Mr. Bixler. It is such a sweet and funny little detail. Anyone else notice this?

I did, and I read in the movie tie-in book, it's told from Vada's POV, and she explains that they weren't going to let her sit by Mr. Bixler, but she finally managed to get her way on it because she wanted to be right next to him.

Yup, I noticed. She also made a few of her fellow students look funny. Those gotta be the bullies.
