so...Mr. Bixler 'cared about him too'...

Just not quite enough to bother being on time for his effing funeral??

Let's hope something immediate happened and it wasn't "sky rockets in flight" with the fiance...

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

Weren't they (the teacher and his wife) moving that day? It's been years since I watched this. Anywho, at least he went to the funeral. I'm not gonna question that the teacher cared about him.

reply

No, he had moved and fixed the place up already, plus it was still his fiance. Just rewatched. This the other day and couldn't help but think "wow...he ran very late for that funeral, kind of messed up!". Plus he didn't seem to have much hustle in him either.

Perhaps the actual funeral was for family members only or something.

I just stumbled across this:
I am fairly certain it was the *wake* ... that was staged there (even though it looked a tad like a funeral).
I think the big giveaway was that the coffin was open - common at wakes ... but uncommon at funerals - and visitors usually come and go for a day, sometimes two or more.
so being late was not such a big deal

reply

An open coffin isn't uncommon at funerals.
