Was so good until the last part of the movie.. possible SPOILER

This was a great comedy/drama with subtle nuances that could have been played to perfection in the end, but then they decided to *beep* it all up with unnecessary death, loads of unnatural lines and cliches one after the other. The transformation of the girl was totally unbelievable as well, it doesn't happen in a day with a click. Even if it did, she wouldnt be throwing those sage lines at us and others, its just not how it happens. Overall I for the fun I had till it reached the stupid climax.

ps. and she didn't know the girls age after working there for all that time? really?

Unnecessary Death? It was a coming of age story about a funeral home and the family that lives there...Death surrounded the whole film

The end was the best part, incredibly heartbreaking but sometimes life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I'm glad they didn't go with a corny, it's going to be all right bullsh!t Full House ending.

here it was all right *beep* standard drama ending. Both are crap. whatever it was it was unnatural and played out, especially how quick she started to say all those smart things. No character development? great, make someone die and others act like they grew up tons.

She did stubtly. At the beginning she was in her shell and full of guilt she killed her mother. Now she was more ourgoing and loving life

Vada became more outgoing, and not because her BFF died.

Her father finally opened up to her (had been ignoring her because he didn't want to talk about his wife's death) and assured her her mothers death wasn't her fault, Vada overcame her fear of death and no longer had to act weird all the time to try to get her fathers attention. Things didn't get better for her but she learned how to face it.
