Considering the time it was set

Considering the time and place this was set the south in the 1950’s I think the whole set up that Dani was to young for Court seems to contrived. Even now 17 year olds date 14 year old in high school (although probably not with any sort of honorable intent) and in was not uncommon for 14 year olds to get married in the south at that time.

I the part just played ware the Dad was telling Dani he had told her not to date yet but to bring him over for supper so the father was not apposed to her starting up with Court as he liked him better then Maureen's Date and was a good friend of Court's Dad

We don't really know where the film takes place, nor the customs of the area.

Not to mention that in the time that it was set if a boy had sex with a young girl without the father's permission, the boy could literally get hanged.

Also, I think it was about Court seeing Dani as more of a friend than about seeing her as a lover.

Exactly. But we can tell that they were different from our modern "standards"; these have changed even since the movie was made 2 decades ago, let alone since middle of 20th century, wherever it might have taken place.

it look place in louisiana in 1957.

as the mother of dani was 14 when she met dani's father, i can see why maybe dani's parents aren’t opposed to it as much.

Part of it is that Dani was an inexperienced, tomboyish 14 who hadn't yet filled out ("you ain't got nothin' to hide").
