Is this what Sunday evenings in the Bible Belt were like in the 1950s?
The first part of this movie takes place on a Sunday. They go to church, and it's after 6PM when Maureen leaves for the dance and Court's family comes over. Some time later, they go to a store in town which is still hopping with customers. Wouldn't the stores be closed by this time on a Sunday night? And would a country club dance be held on a Sunday night? It all seems more like Saturday night activity.
