Yes you are right. I just watched Kentucky Fried Movie and
it is from that movie. Good call! I also like KFM's audio
commentary. It is hillarious! Landis, Weiss, and the Zucker
brothers, plus Abrahams are amazing!

I was on my 2nd enlistment when this came out. i barely even knew about it, when I saw a shipmate on the street, while on liberty (free/off time) and he told me about it.
Several things about make it relevant for Navets (Navy Veterans).
Like when the admiral loses his hat in the wind, and says he can't be an admiral without his hat.

The admiral is clueless, but in my experience, it's bootcamp junior officers (and me, when I was a bootcamp) who are clueless.
