'Face it lady, we're younger and faster.'

Who talks like this?

reply

Conceited stuck up bitches.

reply

Omg that comment cracked me up. Totally.

Those who are about to incur the wrath of TOWANDA!

reply

Absolutely right nova & cade, love both your comments!
OP, perhaps your question is in jest but if not, I assure you there are plenty who do by word and deed.
I'm not sure if the scene inside the grocery of Evelyn's encounter with the rude and verbally abusive young man came directly afterward but those are two of my favorite "present day" scenes. Both show the capacity of arrogance and abuse within those who assume they're in power. It beautifully highlights "bully culture" and the oppression and rage it creates. TOWANDA!

For the win!

I just now noticed the bumper sticker on the car that Evelyn rammed "I brake for Rednecks"

reply

This movie is not in my favorite movie list, but this scene I love. It feels good that finally Evelyn stands up for herself regardless of the consequences.

It's OK, Claude... it's me... Dad...

That was some corny dialogue. I feel like people are mean like that would have more of an edge to their insults.

I don't think it matters where it originated, it's still unrealistic dialogue.

reply

This was an off-the-cuff insult by a couple of unpleasant girls; they weren't exactly Dorothy Parker or Oscar Wilde. I'm sure it was the best they could come up with.

reply

They may not say it, but they sure do think it. Almost every single youth in America thinks that way. The elderly (and the fat) are the only people left that hateful people feel safe speaking out their hate about in public.

reply

It's not about what the basic idea is, but the specific phrases they use to express it. It's so on the nose and corny in that situation. Some jackass who is acting tough like that would probably be much more rude and explicit.

reply

I just love it that she smashed the crap out of their car!!! ya baby! Good for her.

reply

Not so good for the van on the other end of the red Volkswagon that also got hit. Kind of stupid and selfish revenge. The car was a convertible. She could have dumped oil or something nastier all over the seats and drove away quietly -- but I'm just younger and wiser 😉

reply

SERIOUSLY!?!?!? Screw the van! She's got insurance!!! I've wanted to do the thing myself!

reply

In general... rarely a good idea to steal a parking spot. Someone could easily screw with your car while you're not looking. In this case the girls were just asking for it.
