I know it was made in the early nineties, but can anybody watch the movie and not cringe at the clothes that they were wearing. Yick. Just awful.

Do you mean the period '30s clothes or the '90s clothes Evelyn wore when she was gaining more confidence? Unfortunately that's how people dressed back then. I cringe looking at my pics from back then, too.

Considering that this movie was released in '91, it was filmed in 1990, which means that '80's clothes spilled over. I'd say that '90's fashion didn't really come into full swing until '92 or even '93, but purely my opinion.
