So no ones heard of this town where all the children died except one and the adults all seem to have gone insane?
Even for a Nightmare movie, this is a pretty absurd premise.

shareIn some ways it does make sense. Freddy has power over the kids in the town and I could see him killing all of them and the grown ups in the town going nuts over it. Freddy Vs. Jason, the only sequel to Freddy's Dead, has the adults knowing who Freddy is and trying their hardest to make sure the new kids in town don't know about him. To the point of even blacking out a bunch of text on old town records. But then Freddy is able to come back cause one of the adults who is a cop mentions Freddy's name in earshot of one of the kids. And is immediately told by the Sheriff not to do that.
shareI don't think the OP's problem was that the children died, or that all the adults went insane.
The weird thing is that nobody outside of Springwood seemed to know that this happened. The characters who arrived in the town were acting like they were discovering it for the first time.
How could literally everybody in a town be insane, and nobody in towns surrounding it know about it?
Oh. Well my guess is the insane people there were known by people in other towns but died and there were a few people who weren't insane still living in the town.
