I think it's funny that Johnny Depp returned, seeing as how he played a character in the original movie, but does anyone know why his bit role in this movie was credited as "Oprah Noodlemantra?" First off... what a strange combination of words for a name, I'm sure it's some inside joke... but secondly, why wouldn't an actor want to be credited under his own name? Maybe because he didn't want his role in Freddy's Dead to take away from his Edward Scissorhands fame or something. Any thoughts?

I'm sure it was an inside joke. Maybe the "credit" was just to see how people reacted since he was becoming such a huge star since the original.

yesh, I found it funny that he was in the fist nightmare and the supposed-to-be-last nightmare.

I also find it funny that Freddy NEVER Dies.
Part 1 wasn't intended to have a sequel.
Than in part three Wes tries to end the series again.
Part 6:Freddy's dead...pretty self explanitory (I was so sad when this one came out, I'm like "no you can't end the series, I want more Freddy!")
Then they do New Nightmares, and your thinking. Okay now it's over.
Freddy V.S. Jason...With confidence you say, "OK, now it's really over"
Now a remake! (Which I hope spawns a whole new franchise)

...I can see it now, on my deathbed at 101 years old watching the news, (in 3D of course, with smell-o-vision and touch-o-vision...can't wait!), and an annocement saying that New Line is releasing, a remake of the remake that was remade, on OCTOBER FRIDAY THE 13 2090. And I die happy knowing Freddy lives on. lol

I thought it was supposed to be his original character and they were showing that Freddy was still torturing him even after all this time. I'm going to keep pretending that's the story on why 'Glen' returned. I think mine is better than the truth.

I like this theory. I thought the same thing when I first saw the movie.

It's interesting to note that Johnny recently had a funny cameo in the 21 Jump Street movie. I like that he has a sense of humor about his acting roots.

I thought about that, BUT apparantly all the souls were released in part 4, so does Freddy have the power to reclaim the souls?

I always took it as Glen returned on his own to warn Spencer, and Freddy just happened to wack him with the frying pan, but Glen was not really still "captured" by Freddy or under his control, that was my take on it.

Just because we lose today's battle doesn't mean we've lost tommorow's war.

If that were really Glen, I don't think he'd be standing around making eggs. Freddy likes to project the image of his past victims, but they aren't really them. Think Tina in the bodybag in the original.

I think he should have still be Glen.
