Carlos Death Scene too Difficult to Watch

Sorry, but this Freddys Dead had to be 1 of, if not the worst movie of them all.

Especially worse, was Carlos's Death scene for me, which was the hardest to watch and stomach out of all NOES sequel.I actually shuffle this with Part 2, and 5 as the worst of the sequel.

While I have the 6th movie on DVD,I have to skip Carlos Death. I dont even watch this movie nor have I had time lately to re-watch some of the other NOES sequels, but Carlos Death scene was without question the most difficult to watch, of them all. Shielas Death the girl with asthma was a close 2nd, as her death also involved her disposition.

Why? simply because his Death did not involve a fantasy or Dream based on any kind of imagination or an interest he had, but rather took advanatge of his Disability. There is a big difference between the way Carlos died and the kid from part 5 who was into Comic books. Big difference like night and day. In Carlos Death scene you had to struggle yourself to watch this helpless kid, get tormented, and Mocked and antagonized by Freddy, whereas, with the kid from Part 5, you never really saw him suffer and all we saw was Freddy rip up the paper of the kid.

I really wish Carlos could have been 1 of the Elmstreet children to still be alive, or at the very least, die some other kind of death rather than using his Disability against him in his dream or nightmare.

Will from part 3 Dream Warriors also had a Disability, but even his death, was not prolonged with torture as was Carlos death scene.

Anyone care to answer.

Well as you said, using a disability against them is something that Freddy was really interested in, same with the characters imagination or interests, since Dream Warriors. Probably more so if the kid had a disability so that he could use that to torment them before he killed them.

This one with Carlos was more vicious than the Dream Warriors scene with Will, but in some ways I think Freddy was more mean and cruel in this film. Despite all of the ridiculous scenes in this film, they clearly wanted to add some shocking moments, and judging by your reaction, it looks like they succeeded.

Very true.Shocking for sure.

The way I see it, using someones disability is also un-imaginative from a sense that it showed me and am sure many others, just how bad the last sequels had reached at that point. Using Carlos hearing against him was an easy way out, to try and get people to forget just how bad overall this film was. Not to mention showing Freddy as the Wicked Witch of the East from Wizzrd of Oz was also lame. I would have rather been OK with Carlos dying at the Sprinwood Fair, where he had some fascination with Rollercoasters or rides, or would have welcomed or liked where if Freddy would have controlled the Bumper Car rides. Something more imaginative than being so predictable.

BTW, that scene at the Sprinwood Fair was way to dull and needed or called for something other to happen. Just a waste of a scene. It was Cool from a standpoint it was soo Late 80's and early 90's, but other than that, it missed some sort of substance.

Freddy as the Witch of the East was COOL I don't care what ppl say.

2 of my all time favorite villains rolled into ONE being right there was exciting for me!!!

And Freddy always reminded me of a Witch anyway, so there you go lol

There is no "in some ways" about it, Freddy IS much more cruel in the later films than in the earlier, I dont think that is degradated by the comedy, in fact it makes him sicker.

This is why I've always felt more uneasy watching the later films than the earlier ones.

The early films were just SCARY in the traditional meaning of the word, the later films were SICK.

Well, the later films lost and even sacrificed real scariness for attempts at weirdness. One feels that the later films were just trying so desperately to be as weird/unique/surreal as possible, and flailing miserably in the attempt, because what is supposed to be a scary horror film just appears to be completely ridiculous - not scary at all, not interesting at all. Just a yawn. That's just my opinion. With Freddy's Dead, I couldn't believe it had gotten so bad. It's just a laughable movie.

The first Nightmare on Elm Street was legitimately frightening, I remember being home alone at night as a kid in the 80s and watching it for the first time and it scared me to death.

Go scratch!

Watching Carlos' death scene now on blu-ray and I find it hilarious. When I watched it in theaters back in 1991 the audience were squirming in their seats,especially when Freddy scratched his claws on that chalkboard, it was so loud lol!

Well that's just the kind of low down bastard Freddy is, we were never supposed to like him. He IS a bully, plain and simple and he exploits weakness.

Part is is accused of being the silliest BUT I think it has some of the most disturbing death scenes ever.

Freddy is a horrible person. You arent supposed to like anything he does.

Having said that, his taunting in this particular film makes little sense. He's too darn whimsical and its one of many things that went wrong.

Wes Cravens New Nightmare brought the franchise back on track.

Then it died for 9 years.

I agree that we are suppose to hate Freddy & what he does. Plus Carlos isn't the first with a handicap for Freddy to get. He attacked a boy in wheel chair in 3.

This movie had some of the cruelest scenes ever in it that were particulary mean toward ppl with serious issues. I thought the scene with Freddy making Tracie relive her dad raping her was very disturbing, which is why I don't get why I don't see this movie as SOO comical like most ppl do. Yeah it had comedy in it, but that doesn't change the sick scenes.

I'm with you McQueenMadden, Way to hard for me to watch, I have to FF this scene or jump to the next scene everytime.

Id rather be shot or hung then go through what Carlos had to endure throughout that whole sequence.

Just the thought of an ear ache bothers me, let alone thinking of someone sticking a Long Que tip through my head, causing me to go Deaf.
