One of my favorite Robin Williams roles
And he played it to perfection! He will be greatly missed!
You will probably disagree. That's the nature of discussions -- they have two sides.

I came on here for the same reason. This is one of my favorite films and Robin Williams was perfection in it.
sharenext life, i'm a fly on a wall and will come back to see any interactions that took place off-camera between michael jeter and robin. i loved michael jeter in everything and this movie really won me over as a fan of robins.
shareThis is one of the greatest films ever made. I will watch it again for the umpteenth time tonight in tribute to such a talented man. The chemistry between Williams and Bridges was magic.
shareThis was my first choice for Robin Williams best (or my favorite) film. He made me laugh and cry and Jeff Bridges, Mercedes Ruhl, and Amanda Plummer simply finish bringing down the house. All four of them are just amazing but Williams has the toughest role as Perry and Williams showed just how great an actor he was. He played his character with charm, wit, intelligence, strength and grace.
"Have a better one"
My favorite as well. I need to watch it again, soon.
shareI agree. Most people identify Robin Williams with Mrs.Doubtfire, Patch Adams or some other comedic role, but his Fisher King performance is the most memorable for me. Wonderful movie and great acting all around. So sad that Robin Williams is gone.
shareIm actually watching it on Netflix right now. I shall do a review when Im done.
shareThey have The Fisher King on Netflix? Impressive!
Yes I think this is the best movie that he ever did, but my favourite role of his was as the English teacher in Dead Poets Society. This movie is better though, I think it's one of the most underrated movies of all time, the message is wonderful and the quirky way the story is told really draws you into a different experience. I think it's Terry Gilliam's best (and he has a few great movies under his belt), and Robin William's second best role.
Jeff Bridges and Mercedes Ruhl are fantastic in this movie too; they have terrific presence together and lots of chemistry, I really buy into their relationship and they're both so much fun. I think I'll watch this movie again this weekend!
Yes sir indeed they do! I actually had to cut it off about half way through. Very interesting movie, but I had a long and hard day at work so I was a bit tired. On the other hand I shall watch it from the beginning tomorrow seeing how its my weekend off. I want to be able to watch it without any distractions or cares.

bravo! fisher king. this movie's not for everyone. well right. i dont recall ever hearing the song 'dude look like a lady' in it. and by god, itll test you to see just how open your eyes are to the world around you. the pain. the edge. dont go near the edge, youll fall. but robin knew the edge, more than any of us could have possibly imagined it seems. wtf? hes gone but his movies survive. and this one will touch you deep, if you dare.
