Does anyone else think Nina's outfit was inappropriate?
if anyone wore that outfit to my wedding I would cry and throw a huge fit and demand she change or she won't be allowed to be at the wedding or reception. One of the biggest wedding rules is only the bride gets to wear white. That was really selfish of Nina wearing that outfit. She had her chance at being a bride, now she has to realize it's her daughter's turn.
I agree. I think Nina was very envious of her throught the whole film.

If you threw a fit then you would be the one who is "inappropriate" for making an a$$ of yourself and if your fiance had sense he would dump you then and there.

It is not white. Besides the top, however the jacket covers most of it. I actually liked it because she is wearing champagne, the traditional mother-of-the-bride color.

It was a cream with gold thread and designs. if you look at the skirt it was also not white!
I loved it so much that when my daughter got engaged in 98, I rented the movie and watched it again for ideas, and to see Nina's suit because I thought it was so appropriate.
And here the OP thought it was rude. Good grief. Haven't been to many weddings have you? My suit was very similar but went all the way down to right above the ankles because the wedding was very formal.
FOB wedding was also formal and my only complaint is that Nina wore a short dress which seemed wrong considering how formal the wedding was.
But I think they wanted Nina to still seem very young to have a daughter married, knowing that in a year they;d be back with Annie being pg and Nina too!
So Nina had to seem youthful.
as for the white dresses, our flower girl wore a white satin dress that looked like a wedding dress. This was the trend in 99. Don't know what they do now.

Nina's outfit was entirely appropriate! I think she looked gorgeous!
As for flower girls, my daughter was a flower girl for my cousin just a few months ago, and she wore a cream dress, the same colour as the brides dress.
