Bluray FAR exceeded my expectations
I won't go as far as to say the restoration was as extensive as say Troll 2 but it completely blew me away! After seeing this baby on subpar quality television airings, VHS, and DVD I never expected the movie could be cleaned up any better. Then the Bluray came along and I was amazed at how much additional detail was revealed not only because of the 1080p remastering but because of the original widescreen aspect ratio that is making it's widescreen debut on Bluray. The audio is especially a nice treat. For a lossy stereo track, it surely packed a hell of a punch and was very immersive. It sounds especially better when upmixed to 5.1 through an amplifier or such. It's a bit active for what you'd expect from a movie of this caliber but it works. I only paid 5 bucks for it and with the lack of special features, I got an astounding widescreen transfer and a very active and effective stereo track so I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Anyone else pleased?
