Any great movie related with life-death situation beside this one??

I did really enjoy watching this film last night and i'm always interested in this kind of film, especially if it's a comedy/parody about GOD,bible, afterlife, heaven and "second chance".So,is there anyone here want to give a highly reccomended movie which has similiarity with those subjects? i think,Heaven Can Wait(1978/str:warren beatty, julie christie) was another good example.

MOST ORIGINAL FILMMAKERS & PIONEER :

Not a comedy, but very thought-provoking and not religious, "Wandafuru raifu".

Sorry how do you put QTarantino in your 3 'most original filmmakers & pioneer'? i know this is off topic but it is your signature. While I really and honestly enjoy his films greatly, they are all derivative in essentially every way stylistically from all kinds of genres and filmmakers that came before him. I honestly don't see how he is in your Top 3 with the likes of Kubrick and Lynch. Maybe I'm reading too much into this though. Probably since i'm on company time. later

I didn't see this movie as mocking God at all. I saw this as all a part of God's design. There were people of all sorts at Judgment City an there was obviously a higher plane to get to so it's safe to assume that everyone involved with the operation of Judgment City have to answer to somebody, no?

When you steal from Peter and give to Paul, you will always have the support of Paul.

"Always", great movie

"Dead Again"

"Death Takes a Holiday"

Kind of old (1970's) but a great, thought prevoking movie; "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud", with Michael Sarrazin and Jennifer O'Neil and Margot Kidder. The novel is great too.

A Matter of Life and Death (1946) - A British wartime aviator who cheats death must argue for his life before a celestial court.

Heaven Can Wait (1943) - An old roué arrives in Hades to review his life with Satan, who will rule on his eligibility to enter the Underworld.

Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941) - Boxer Joe Pendleton dies 50 years too soon due to a heavenly mistake, and is given a new life as a millionaire playboy. Remade in 1978 as Heaven Can Wait.

Angel On My Shoulder (1946) - The Devil arranges for a deceased gangster to return to Earth as a well-respected judge to make up for his previous life.

Between Two Worlds (1944) - Several people are killed in a London air raid. They each awake aboard a strange ship which will deliver each of them either to heaven or hell.

There are lots of others but these are the ones I've seen and loved. Do an IMDB keyword search (keyword, not title) to find older and newer titles.

One more -

A Guy Named Joe (1943) - A dead World War II bomber pilot, Maj. Pete Sandidge becomes guardian angel to another pilot, Capt. Ted Randall. Remade by Spielberg as Always.

If you like Kubrick-esq visual brilliance and films about what comes after death, I sure hope you've watched Enter The Void. Be warned: NOT A COMEDY!

This movie has very dark and disturbing elements ala Requiem For A Dream, but it is one of the most visually engaging films I've seen since 2001: A Space Odyssey. The entire film is shot from the perspective of a single character who dies and then leaves his body, but DOESN'T cross over. This is definitely one of those movies that you don't watch, you experience. Good luck!

The Lovely Bones is another good afterlife film. And don't forget about Holly Hunter in Always.
