I feel like an idiot for asking but can someone explain this joke to me? Many thanks.
shareKiwanis is a club. Like Lions Club, Rotary Club, Shriners, Elks Lodge, etc. They are service clubs that do charity work. They frequently have conventions and when you are at a hotel it is common to see signs that say, "Welcome Kiwanis". The joke is that even in death these clubs are having there own private convention.
shareI thought it was something like that. I'm familiar with the club but wasn't aware they had a lot of conventions at hotels and thought maybe this was something more common 20+ years ago. I travel a lot for work and haven't ever seen one. Anyway, I've thoroughly killed the joke now.
