Question about Daniel's last hours of his life

In the first scences of of the movie (Daniel's last hours leading to his fatal car crash) did you notice any elements of Daniel's bravery or cowardice?

Not bravery, but more of that "poor judgement" stuff that was brought up against him, specifically, taking his eyes off the road to attend to something on the floor of his car. In fact he could have been responsible for other injuries or deaths as a result.

I think you could reason that Daniels desire to be alone on his birthday is an example of fear. He'd rather not socialize on a day that typically involves just that.

This is what Lee grant would reason in court anyway. And you could imagine rip torn replying that...'I think it shows great courage to be alone on your birthday'.
