Did the brother pass the exam?
The number is shown as if it should be obvious, but I don't know how that system works

shareYes. He needed 700 to pass, he received 710.
shareThanks
shareI believe his score was 710. He needed a 700 to get into college. I want you to understand that a 710, even back then, was a VERY LOW score. The average score is over 1,000. I think they put his score in there for two reasons. One, it shows that he was about to be able to fulfill dreams and go to college, just like he wanted to. But also two, to show that he was no real brain, he wasn't what we would call a "bright" kid. Remember his lack of focus and knowledge during the SAT exam scene? That was put there to remind us that he wasn't like Tre and Brandi, very smart, intellectual kids.
shareBut also two, to show that he was no real brain, he wasn't what we would call a "bright" kid.You were right the first time, then you overreached. The scene was realistic in that it showed how some prospective student athletes can use the system to potentially escape the hood and whilst also suggesting that some have talents that lie beyond the purely academic skill to pass a college entry exam well.🐭 share
I've always had this scenario of Ricky not being able keep his grades up at SC and having to play for a junior college team before transferring to either smaller Division IA school on the West Coast or possibly a I-AA school that's close Georgia and were Tre his attending school.
