25 years later

Hard to believe this year is the 25th anniversary of this film. 1991 seems like yesterday.

My question is how have things changed, or not changed, in South Central since this film?

One of my personal favorites. Just guessing there will be some kind of commemoration this year.

The population is largely Latino now. It was majority black back in 1991 but now it's majority Latino. It's also officially South LA, they removed "Central".

Crime rates have declined as a whole.

25 years -- my.

But yes, South Central as a whole is more Hispanic than African today. Crenshaw still has a majority of Blacks (60%, though it was higher in the 1990s). The crime rate isn't as bad anymore.

One day nearly every legacy aspect from that actual place in time will have vanished. Usually I would think it takes 50-100yrs for such turnover, if not sooner due to a world war or 2.
