Anyone think Fishburne should've been nominated for an Oscar?

For being such a strong presence, soaring like an eagle over the entirety of the movie. Gotta just love him in this movie. Well, except for that freaking weird part where he sniffs his son and asks if he had some pussy yet. That was bloody creepy that was! But irrelevant, OSCAR FOR MORPHEUS!

Sure - he did a fine job playing the responsible, mature father.

You can also make a case that Ice Cube deserved a nomination for his portrayal of Doughboy.

This movie was nominated for just "Best Director" and "Best Writing," which is insufficient (especially considering the legendary status that this movie has today); it deserved a Best Picture nomination. For some reason, the Academy snubbed this movie in many categories.

So it should have won in all the categories? Should it have won in Special Effects too?

Surely you must think it is greatest movie of all time then.

Menace was fu@&in awesome!

That sniffing part was very uncomfortable.
This was his best performance in my opinion. He deserved an oscar for this far more than many others who received them.
Ice Cube for sure. He was amazing in this.
Cuba is a bit of a knob but I still liked him in this.

Oscars do not mean much though.

Agreed.

You use the "O" word to loosely. None of what you said involves his acting skills which is what Oscars are typically based on, you're just referring the personality of the character.

With that said, yes. Fishburne did a fine job.
