Worst death in movie history IMO

I have the top two deaths IMO in movie history. Ricky in BNTH and the guy with glasses standing between the Terminators in T2. Ricky, a star athlete, can duck bob weave and juke people with a ball in his hand but runs a str8 damn line trying not to get killed....Sorry....since the first time seeing this in 1993, I thought Ricky's death was just idiotic. It would be different if he was shot before he could take off. i mean I would've made the shooter tired lol Zig-zagging all down that mofo...this is your LIFE we're talking about, you do whatever to survive....Ricky set himself up as an easy target.

I agree with you, I have a brother that has been shot in a drive by, I've been shot at . There's no logic in running from being shot at, unless you were trained to do so i.e. The military. I was just 17 and my brother was 19 . So to zig zag down the alley wasn't going through my head at the time, neither was my brother, it was pure instinct to run like a bat out of hell !!!!

They should have used their brains in the first place.
It isn't a good idea to stand in the middle of a back alley.
Instead, just hide in someone's backyard for 5 minutes and the gang members would probably give up searching for you.

Taking the time to drink Milk and take a piss is probably not a good idea when being presumed by a rival gang. I agree Ricky's death is definitely in the top 20 iconic movie deaths.

His death is one of the worst I've seen in a movie. I was wondering why Ricky didn't duck, bob, and weave his way out of getting shot. I think there was some parked cars around I would have hit behind the cars or ran in someone back yard. If he was going into the military he should have been fast at running and knowing how to duck down.

I never been in that situation of getting shot and I think God for that but if I was involved in a drive by or whatever my first instinct would be to run and hide. I would hide behind a parked car or something.

I used to think the same thing til I saw the movie the other night. What I got out of this scene is Ricky probably didnt have time to bob and weave and all that as we the audience see it happen in slow motion giving the illusion that Ricky could've out manuvered the shots but in actuality if it were shown at regular speed Ricky probably didnt have a chance and only made it a couple of steps before being felled by the gunshot.

When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

Agreed, he definetely didn't have much time, they had him dead to rights. 

first off, love your screen name....EH is definitely the sneakiest bastard in history, second, you are right, considering we are viewing it at snail speed, his take off versus a bullet(s) it wasn't much time to really maneuver even if he did plan on it.....first time in over 20 years I really thought of it from that point.

Its a good one. I think another good one is Brave Hart.

Ricky wasn't the brightest character.

When someone points a shotgun at you, I don't expect you to always respond with the most tactical defense to run in weird angles, you may panic, but everything up to that, Ricky shows little streets smarts or logic.

They run they an alley, balancing themselves on the top of a brick fence to not get attacked by dogs, so obviously if you are doing this, there must be some real potential danger at play. But Ricky is convinced that they are just "showing out" and not gonna do anything.

Not only was Ferris known by some of the others (Doughboy, Regina King) as someone who liked to start beefs for "an excuse to shoot somebody", but the guy had just tried to pick a fight with Ricky and then UNLOADED AN AUTOMATIC WEAPON IN THE AIR.

Guys walking around South Central LA in groups wearing red, calling people "crabs", pulling guns on people, are most likely Blood-affiliated

So Ricky decides it would be a good idea to not pay attention to his surroundings, to look down and scratch a lotto ticket, when a Gun-toting gang member, who just tried to fight you, is driving around with his friends following you.

Good points, every. No, Ricky wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer for sure.

reply

It was only the worst death because Ricky was the dumbest black ass on the planet. They are trying to run from guys with Uzi's, and he's like, "No, let me stand here and piss for a minute..." A total idiot. I didn't get the pissing thing. When you are running for your life, the last thing you can do is piss. Ricky deserved it.

His death was one of the saddest and the Set It off death scenes with Queen Latifah character, Vivica Fox, and Kimberly character die.
