What was that stuff they were drinking?
What was that stuff they were all drinking from large bottles? Beer or whisky or something else? I think the label said "Old English" something, but I've never seen it before (am not from U.S.)

shareIt was malt liquor. Old English, aka OE, aka 8ball, is malt liquor like Colt 45. Not only do they drink but they also pour it on the ground to remember their dead homies.
shareThank you. I'd never even heard of that stuff!
shareLOL....Dead Homies
shareThey were also drinking. St Ives, when they were at the BBQ. It was $1.49 for the 40oz. It was supposed to be beer but, it was more like liquid crack. St. Ives, would mess someone up pretty bad. It wasn't on the mark for very long.
shareIt's called a 40oz of "malt liquor" the most common ones are Olde English, St Ides, Mickey's. Malt liquor is stronger than regular beer, from my understanding it's what's left over in a keg and sold to third party distributors and has higher alcohol content and much cheaper than name brand beer. Very popular in the hood, because of the high alcohol content and amount for the money. Trust me I'm from the hood originally. Mickey's was my brand of choice when I lived in the hood. Now I live good and I drink f'king Guinness.
shareit was all malt liquor, just cheap booze to get drunk on. The 40 oz is just one of many peculiar consumer products that the black community adopted. Menthol cigarettes is another.
