I guess Keanan looked at the downfalls of other teenage and child actors and realized she shouldn't necessarily rely on a long-term career in acting. So, she created a backup plan by becoming a lawyer, which offers safer and more stable work. She is not the only one, Danica McKellar, for example, became a mathematics and writer. I think Keanan do the right thing, she is charismatic and a good actress overall but she never been a huge star or with above average talent.
