Child services would've been called if Rugrats was set in this time period.

Rugrats is one of my fave cartoons as a kid, but I can't help but suspect that those parents couldn't be more Careless with their toddlers lol.

They constantly disappear out of sight while their parents chat amongst themselves and preferably focus on their own business instead of keeping an eye on their kids.

This is especially true in the Rugrats movie when they got lost in that forest with the Reptar car. They were irresponsible enough to leave the door opened and unattended with their grandpa who falls asleep constantly. Then that story being broadcasted on the news. In this time period, That would be a child service lawsuit waiting to occur.
