I'll go with Butt Ugly Martians.

Ah, finally I have a good claw! 3 human females, a number, and a king giving himself brain surgery!

reply

Depends on the definition of "older". I'll assume pre-2000. In that case I'd have to say Wild Thornberries.

reply

There is one I hated but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. All I remember is that they were puppets and some verses from the lyrics from the opening is don't messs with the (what sounded like) Pharos.

Mrs Voorhees is watching you!

When I first watched Hey Arnold! back in 1996, I thought it was terrible. I didn't watch it again until a year or so later, and it began to grow on me. I never really cared for Arnold too much (he was okay but a little too much of a goody two shoes at times), but I watched for the secondary characters (I loved Harold and Grandpa the most).

My interest in Nickelodeon waned when Catdog and The Wild Thornberrys hit the scene. I couldn't really get into Catdog for some reason. And I just found the characters in WT to be too unlikable (Eliza too annoying, bitchy sister, idiot father, etc). I remember thinking as a kid that this was going to be the jump the shark moment for Nickelodeon (I realize that J.T.S refers to specific shows and not companies, but still). I still watched Nick but it was never the same after that. I began to move onto Toonami and WWE wrestling more. Those two in the late 90's was super popular and everybody I knew was into those back in grade and middle school. It was like we were members of a cult or something lol.

reply

CatDog, I don't hate it, but my least favorite out of the classic bunch.

reply

I never liked Angry Beavers or Rocket Power. Actually, I didn't like Wild Thornberries either. I just hated how the characters were drawn on that show. I tried to get into it at one point, but the main character girl grated my nerves. Also, did not care for As Told by Ginger and Catdog.

I was indifferent about Red and Stimpy.

As a kid I loved Rugrats and Hey Arnold, liked Ahhh! Real Monsters and Doug, and could appreciate an episode of Rocko's Modern Life every now and then.

you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

reply

I loved just about everything Nickelodeon had to offer before 1998-1999. I think the last two Nickelodeon originals I watched on a regular basis were CatDog and As Told by Ginger, which came out when I was 11-13. None of the other 'toons - Rocket Power, Wild Thornberries, etc. - appealed to me at all. That was when I stopped watching Nickelodeon for good.

reply

I would say CatDog, I watched it but it was my least favorite out of the shows I watched. I couldn't have loved Rocket Power or As Told by Ginger any more than I did and I think their excellent! Doug was brilliant, I've been rewatching those lately and enjoy them now just as much.

Angela Anaconda.. she was just arrrgh!!

I know I'm in the minority with this one but I couldn't stand Fairly Odd Parents! I could never get into it; it was so annoying, obnoxious, and just too silly lol.

CatDog/Angry Beavers/Ahhh! Real Monsters/Rocket Power/The Wild Thornberries/Ren And Stimpy
I was always bored by them all.

The only animated programs I liked on Nick were Hey Arnold!, Rugrats and Doug.
The rest were junk tbh.

I did enjoy some of the non animated stuff like Legends Of The Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, Guts, Figure It Out, and Space Cases.
My favorite was Are You Afraid Of The Dark? though :)
I was neutral on The Secret World Of Alex Mac.
Never liked All That, Keenan And Kel, Clarissa Explains It All, and Pete And Pete. Again I was bored by those.

Global Guts! It was kinda like a kid olympics where 3 countries would compete in sporting events.
Figure It Out had a panel of Nick stars who would try to figure out the talent of the contestant.

Double Dare! Forgot to mention that one. Liked it alot :).

reply

I enjoyed Rocket Power and Angry Beavers, Thornberries and CatDog were OK-ish, the others didn't really do anything for me.

BTW, has anyone on here ever seen or heard of The Brothers Flub? It's a very obscure Nick series because it only lasted 1 year, only ever aired on sundays and was never reran afterwards, there were a couple of VHS releases but they're out of print now.

I also liked Kenan, Alex and Clarissa, the others were pretty eh.

reply

I've heard of The Brothers Flub, what year did it run?
Some shows on Nick didn't last too long, like that show Animorphs.

reply

It ran from 1999 to 2000(though it was supposed to air at least a year earlier), there were 26 episodes total. The show was barely advertised on Nick itself, yet received plenty of promotion through fast-food joints, which was rather unusual.

You can watch all the episodes online here legally:http://www.kidobi.com/search/videos-for-kids/brothers-flub#SearchType=1&SearchText=brothers+flub

BTW, do you like Rocko's Modern Life?

reply

Scorpion 2, I don't remember Rocko, but I loved the rest of 90s Nick, even Catdog, Wild Thornberries, and even Rocket Power sometimes. I was already 20 in 1990, but I watched Nick when nothing else was on. Which is why I'm so glad TeenNick has a 90s are all that block.

reply

Angry Beavers
Butt Ugly Martians
KaBlam!

reply

Pre-90s Nicktoons, I hated As told by Ginger, and Chalkzone.
I tried to like Ren and Stimpy but it was a bit too gross and random for me. Rocko was gross but it made sense and had MUCH better characters.
Wild Thornberries was a take it or leave it show for me.
Post-90s I didnt really watch Nick after 2002 but most of the shows sucked. Never really gave Zim a chance. Fairly was corny. That hero with the white hair was corny. Hell only show I watched on nick post 2002 was Spongebob. All Grown Up was *beep* too.

List of nick toons I liked:

Rugrats (# 1 fave)
Hey Arnold
SpongeBob
Rocket Power
As told my Ginger

Nicktoons I never got into:

Angry beavers
Aahhh real monsters
Rockers modern life
My life as a teenage robot
Cat dog
Invader zim

reply

I never could get into CatDog I thought that show as corny a dog and cat being stuck together.

I never liked Sponge Bob and still don't care for that show. Wild Thornberries....I watched a few episodes of that show but was never a fan of the show.

Rocket Power....my younger brother watched this show and I started watching it and I will admit I got into it. The show could have been better.
