Monster in the basement?

In the episode "The Last Babysitter" a noise is heard from Suzie's basement, when Buster goes to look something chases him back upstairs. We are lead to believe it was his friend Sticky, who is later found upstairs, but Suzie even points out that he couldn't have gone upstairs without being noticed. My question is, WHAT was in the basement that chased Buster?

There's no way it could've been Sticky. We know he wasn't faking it because we heard noises before he went down. You'd think Alissa would've still questioned what happened in the basement, but they all seem to just forget about it.

This bugged me too, (and this is all from memory) but I think when the parents came home, Randy mentioned what the basement really was so maybe it WAS Sticky and he stuck out the other way, like the window if it was a basement.

I would always rather be happy than dignified.

Could be, but that seems.....so much lamer. Tommy even laughed when they heard Randy say "Why is the coffee table pushed in front of the basement door?"

Maybe they just thought it was Sticky and something else really was down there!

I can't remember the episode too well but Buster was in on the prank so maybe he just pretended to be chased?

Yeah that episode used to kind of freak me out. Invisible, that's what I originally thought, but then Susie said the monster (aka Sticky) couldn't have gone by Alisa and everybody else without being seen so . . . what the hell?

Maybe it was real. Sometimes the rugrats made it ambitious like the twins being aliens and other times not real like the monster under the bed being a sweater.
