Twenty-five years after Nala and Simba inspired many an unexpected sexual awakening, a new version of The Lion King arrives in theaters this week. Tragically, it does not feature a cameo by the original voice of Young Simba: the man, the myth, the M.I.A. legend that is Jonathan Taylor Thomas.

A floppy-haired moppet of a child actor with a chain-smoker's rasp, JTT reached a stratospheric level of teen idoldom usually reserved for pop stars and boy bands. When painstakingly arranged compositions of Bop and Tiger Beat's finest centerfolds papered tween bedrooms across the nation, his face commandeered the lion's share of 90s real estate. (The average makeup, based purely on my own experience, was 80 percent Thomas, 20 percent Devon Sawa and a gratuitous rotating corner for Andrew Keegan or the kid from Free Willy.)

And then–in his late teens, right around the time of Y2K—he quit Home Improvement, did a couple of indie films, and vanished completely.

Now 37, he hasn't walked a red carpet in 15 years, and has made only a few on-screen appearances. He didn't run from a massive scandal or have a public breakdown, so why did the world's foremost teen idol disappear?

I believe I saw an article a week or so ago that says he is running for a SAG-AFTRA seat.

Allegedly, JTT's mom was a real pain in the ass (like extremely controlling). To make a long story short, she allegedly suffers from something called Narcissistic Sociopath Disorder. I think that somebody, who may have been Tarah Noah Smith's mom, put that out there:

The real reason he left “Hollywood” was because of Home Improvement that whole College ordeal was a flat out LIE he left because he wanted to be a “Independent Actor” but when his movies flopped his mother forced College on him she suffers from ‘Narcissistic Sociopath Disorder’…The cast was happy they left the show all the hell they put everyone through. I’m not very interested in them sadly to say as they ruined a whole bunch of the HI experience for us all. His family has a history of Mental/illness problems ESP from his uncles side.

Most of the time when we knew him we stayed as far away from him & his mom for our own protection he didn’t get a chance to learn to socialize because his mom is so controlling. He couldn’t bring friends to the set for tapings like the rest could. She always has had a VERY sick control over him that explains why no-one knows who he dates he’s that discreet. He’s a recluse doesn’t want to be bothered.

He was never out going much he didn’t get a chance to learn to socialize other than to speak adult to adults to further his career. He wasn’t given a Childhood he wasn’t allowed to play Legos with other Children.
My best advice is to leave them alone people, the last thing ANY girl wants is Claudine as a mother in law. I’m serious she’s sick. I’d hate to see any girls suffer by all means whoever or IF he ever gets married it will end in a nasty (Divorce) as long as his mothers around forget about it. It ended in a nasty Divorce with his her. He’s not worth anyone’s waste of time and energy at all.

Well, it does explain why he left and after reading that I feel sorry for him. Having a narcistic mom that doesn't allow you to do the things most kids do on a regular basis would be pretty devastating.

He’s a serious hard core alt right guy. I know some people who know his brother. He doesn’t come around the family because they are ‘liberal’

Apparently Tim Allen did a job on him. He’s a birther, is on reddit under fake names and strongly supports trump. Believes in qanon and all far right conspiracies. He’s an incel by choice. He could have women due to his fame and he’s still wealthy. But he’s an angry bitter man who will start denouncing ‘jews’ ‘blacks’ ‘obama’ when he gets comfortable.

That’s the real reason why he’s pretty much persona non grata in Hollywood. The only person who will work with him is tim Allen. Allen is a far right alt right loon as well. They bond over their insane hatred of obama. Tim is more socialized and does a better job of disguising it. They both donate a ton of money to movements that are fronts for white nationalists

He was a great running back for U. of Wisconsin, and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts. He's having an ok rookie year, but the team is doing well.
