Dis-satisfying series finale

Was anyone else dis-satisfied with the series finale? On one hand, it was cool that Herman got to meet his inner-selves in a manner of speaking. I also liked how each person in Herman's life was shown relating to a certain side of his personality.

However, there was no resolution of any kind. No advancement in his career as a writer, no head way with Heddy, etc.. I think it would have been great if they had done a dream sequence showing a future look at Herman as a writer, married to Heddy, etc to give the audience an idea of what life would have been like down the road.

I think at the time it was made the creators didn't know it was going to be cancelled.

Fox was in it's infancy back then and a lot of stuff was fly by night--other than cops simpsons and Beverly Hills 90210/Melrose place it did not have super big shows to do marketing with.

measuring this show against these shows was really unfair re ratings. But I bet this is what the network insisted on doing. Ironic bc I watched and liked both Beverly Hills 90210 and this show.

This cast had no merchandising so the show was not promoted. And remember was pre-internet/social media too--early 1990's

Today they would have/could have quickly found a LOT of fans. And the network would have to notice. The show was just ahead of it's time.

On another thread I wrote about the the Fright Night connection between Herman’s Head and Married . . . With Children, 2 of the network’s first comedies, and both of the screwed by preemptive endings. That’s what no-class Fox did back then. You could hold a loaded gun to my head and I still wouldn’t watch Fox today. Death before dishonor.
