Yes this show was totally funny to watch and I loved it! I agree with you that this show should have lasted longer than what it did but it is a shame that it did not though. Why is it when there is a really good show on it always tends to get canceled for some reason and not last as long as other shows that were really stupid! I would have loved to see at least 2 or 3 more years out of this show. Does anyone else agree with me on this?
I remember there was one show I liked called Babes that didn't last too long. It got replacted my Drexel's Class starring Dabney Coleman. I liked that show, too. But, like Babes, it didn't last too long. Drexel got replaced by Martin. I thought that like the previous two shows, Martin wouldn't last long. I didn't care for Martin, but it lasted for a long time!
Travolta is no Divine!!! No one can replace the great Divine.
I do not remember that show called Babes. I do not even remember Drexel's Class at all. Martin was not a bad show but the thing about it though was to appeal to the African American crowd because there were not really that many shows out there made for the blacks.
That is why I think that show lasted so long on television. Take as an example In Living Color it lasted quite a while on TV. I would have loved to have seen lust take over more often and place Herman into more predicaments that could get him into trouble you know.
Then all of the rest of his emotions try to fix what lust did. That would have been cool to see and watch you know. What do you think about that?
Best shot is to watch it on YouTube. It looks like most, if not all, episodes are there. Hopefully Fox won't find out, have a hissy fit and get them pulled.
It was a great show. So great in fact, that it was ahead of its time. Like Frasier or Seinfeld, the writing was intelligent and really funny, without any preaching or "message." I think young viewers back then preferred to watch dumb shows like 90210, so that Herman's ratings were really poor.
