I'm drawing a break, but this sounds like this set up alphabetically with possibly extras who were given names...had there been another season we might have met them.

I don't remember if there was an Ellen but there was a Tony, but he hardly deserves mentioning. He and Ben, a couple of tough guys, were looking for Roxanne one day in the cafeteria.
Tony: Hey, if you see Roxanne, tell her Tony and Ben are looking for her.
Dave: Tony and Ben?
Ben : Is there an echo in here?
I don't remeber any appearances of or references to the two characters outside of that one blink-and-you-miss-it scene.
Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.
