But this show is genius. The dark humor, satire that is on point and has a meaningful message. I remember when I was a kid thinking that this show was just trying to be The Simpsons. While I still adore the first ten seasons of The Simpsons, this stands in its own right as an incredible comedy.
shareThe plot is far too much like a sitcom and I don't find any of the characters likable; they're extremely one dimensional and the voice acting doesn't do them any favors which leaves the whole thing feeling really flat. The animatronics were great for the time, however it is really distracting that the voices don't even come close to matching the mouth movement on the characters and in general I find there isn't enough movement in the faces, particularly for side characters. A great show to watch when it aired or a few years later, but it really doesn't hold up for me.
shareI liked it. I was 9 years old when this show came out and I fell in love with the show instantly my mom and dad got hooked on the show and my younger brother and sister liked the show. We watched the show together as a family but the show did have that Simpson feel to it, I don't see the Married With Children humor.

I was in my 40s when Dinosaurs aired, and my wife and I both loved it. We'll never forget "Box Full of Puppies!!!" I swear that led to the creation of Animal Planet! (Especially their Puppy Bowl broadcast on Super Bowl Sunday.)

shareEvidently Jim Henson's original concept for this show preceded the Simpsons, but it wasn't until THEY became a hit that Henson and his Workshop were really able to go ahead with Dinosaurs.
Have to agree though, the show is so genius, rewatching Baby Talk a while back, my mother said "THIS is why they took it off TV", when they were discussing how parents would rather give up all their personal freedoms so they don't have to watch their kids and have free time for themselves.
