If there were to be a remake and/or movie adaptation of this show

While I like the original puppet & animotronic stuff, odds are the characters would all be done in full CGI with actors wearing motion capture suits (kind of like what's been done with the turtles & Splinter of the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie).

If either thing happened, who do you think would be an ideal (motion capture and/or voice) cast?

I mean they could use members of the original cast such as Stuart Pankin, Kevin Clash & other various actors who are still around & even still acting today but have some actors (such as Sherman Hemsley who voiced B.P. Richfield) replaced.

But 9 out of 10, the writers would just bring in an all new cast.

Who do you think would be an ideal cast?

This is just a partial list, but here are my ideas so far...

Brad Garret or Craig T. Nelson: Voice of Earl Sinclair

Billy West: Voice of Robbie Sinclair

Kathy Najimy: Voice of Fran Sinclair

Cloris Leachmen: Voice of Ethyl Phillips nee Hinkleman

Ray Romano (or the guy who looks kind of like him who's name I can't think of, I'll edit this later when I do): Voice of Roy Hess

Ray Romano would be good for Roy. I'm trying to think who is Nick Bakay. It would be tough to replace Sherman his voice is one of a kind unless you use Samuel L. Jackson when I think about it both of them yell when they talk and I can hear Sam as Mr. Richfield.

I think when you need to recast an iconic role, you should consider some kind of a 180-degree switch and in this instance a gender reversal should work. I first thought of a Judge Judy type but she may have current health issues so Wanda Sykes moves up on the depth chart, as does: Jane Kaczmarek; Jane Lynch and all the usual suspects who have done assertive roles with strong voices. I omit Whoopi Goldberg because she'd bring a tad too much of herself through all the animatronic latex in my opinion. Bear in mind that it would be a similar character and not somebody doing an impression of old B.P. Richfield in dino-drag.

If we needed a male voice, I'd consider Ed Asner whose Ed Wuncler on The Boondocks is not a mile off from B.P. Richfield. I don't recommend actually trying to copy Sherman's voice as that just seems disrespectful. It only takes a gruff domineering boss-voice and there are plenty around.

EDIT: Ed Asner did perform the voice of evil Georgie the Hippo in the last episode to be aired, by the way.

Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.

It would be a botched up CG train wreck like most every other Hollweird ripoff of things that worked well the first time.
