I never thought of that as a kid but re-watching it now it reminds me a lot of The Flintstones, like it was The Flintstones Meets The Simpsons. In one episode, The Simpsons comment that the show ripped off of them but technically Jim Henson had the idea in his head before The Simpsons even aired.

shareI pick up so many different shows out of Dinosaurs! that I grew up watching, watched as a young adult, and in some cases still watch in reruns.
Naturally because of the "prehistoric" setting, the Flintstones vibe is strong, but I also catch glimpses of Roseanne, The Honeymooners, a touch of the Brady Bunch and a few others along those lines.
