Get it for your kids!!!

I'm sitting here having a grand time, watching this with my two boys, ages 9 and 11. This is the definitive family pirate movie. The story...well, one can't improve on Robert Louis Stevenson, and this script doesn't try to. It is absolutely faithful, and as such is a testament to the timeless strength of a well-told yarn. The characters fairly jump off the screen...and with the outstandingly frightening Blind Pew this is much to the chagrin of my kids. All filmed with sumptuous color and sound, with just enough reeking authenticity to entrance young and old alike.

But...especially the young! I could tell instantly my boys were enthralled, and it's quite a feeling to spend moments with them just watching the exact moments a lifetime memory is being implanted.

No mediums can do this as film does, and I don't care if this was "Made for TV" -- not many films can do this as well as this film does.

Put this one on the all time underrated classics list.

I completely agree, I grew up on many many reruns of this movie.
