the 'hispaniola' on tour

minding my own business shopping, i happend to turn a corner last weekend in portsmouth (england) when i suddnely saw the "hispaniola" lying in the harbour. shocked? i almost got a heartattack!! luckily, she was on tour through britain because of the bicentanary of blighs voyage 9she was build for "mutiny on the bounty" and open for visitors! i went twice, armed with cameras and the soundtrack and had a lovely time!!!!

Why has Edward Woodward got four 'd's' in his name?
Because otherwise he'd be Ewar Woowar.

Your right, the ship was originally built in 1979 as 'The Bounty' for the film of the same name with Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson. The ship was converted in the Charlestown shipyard which deals just in tall ships particularly for the movies.Charlestown (in Cornwall) is the harbour that Oliver Reed comes ashore into right at the start of the film. The shipyard itself still has the 'Hispaniola' name plate on its wall along with all the others that have been converted there.
