DVD from laser disc

Someone (maybe the poster on this board) has produced a DVD of "Treasure Island" using the laser disc as the source. The DVD is readily available for free. Just do a Google search for "treasure island" and laser disc. A number of sources will turn up. You will need to install a BitTorrent client like µTorrent, if you don't have that already.

The description for the 8.53 gigabyte version is described so: This movie is long out of print, and was only available on VHS and Laserdisc. This is a transfer from the Laserdisc. Great care was taken to ensure high quality video and audio. The video is encoded at 7500kbps and the audio is 48k PCM stereo, which is why the film is split over 2 discs.

You will also find a single disc 4.30 gigabyte version available. This is the version I got. The video and audio quality are quite good. And it downloads much faster, of course.

Until Warner gets around to an official DVD this will be the best version available. And don't pay for this. Anyone charging money for this is a crook.
