If the events of the film after he goes to recall are reality then no they weren’t married for 8 years. If the whole thing was a dream then probably yes
shareOne of the pictures that gets shot in the apartment by Lori, looks like Doug in the implant chair being hugged by Lori. So, it seems that their “marriage” was most certainly fabricated by Rekall imo.

Lori is actually married to Cohagen's goon Richter. Quaids entire life as a common working man is a memory implant, but I don't know if it was done at Rekall or back on Mars.
He was probably with Lori for a few weeks tops to ensure the memory implant held.

shareFor those still wondering, Lori says after being exposed that "last week I didn't know who you were." Could be metaphorical, but also exact. It's s short period, not years.

shareYeah, I remember something about 'weeks' when it comes to that, so you are probably correct. Their fake marriage is only a few weeks old (although technically, six weeks would be one and a half months - I don't get why people say things like 'six weeks' when they could say 'one and a half months' - that's like saying 21600 seconds instead of 'six hours').
If it's all real, who knows. If it's a lobotomy-preceding hallucination', then it's probably weeks.
I hate this movie for making both explanations impossible, though... I wish it would make them both possible, instead.
