How many total Cigs are smoked in this movie? +more

Does anyone know how many total cigarettes are smoked in this movie?

I am trying to count, at somewhere like 34 or 37, approximately one hour into the movie.

I don't get a chance to post at these forums much so I may be back only to view responses.

There are a ton of cigarettes smoked in this movie, it was one of the things that stuck out to me a lot. And I got this wild idea to try to count them all. I thought maybe someone would know, like someone who is totally obsessed with the movie and seen it a thousand times. Is it possible that every cigarette was lit at a very specific time that had meaning to each one? Because that is the pattern I was following. I believe at one point Jackie has a cigarette and then eats a hot dog and then in the next scene he had finished the hot dog and lit up another cigarette.

This became an instant classic to me, of course still being a new movie there is not that sort of polished wisdom of seeing a movie over and over again, but I still feel a very strong connection to it.

I am really picky about the movies that I like. (mostly sci fi or horror) What attracted me into this movie was the powerful acting of Gary Oldman. I saw a video on the internet of some of his greatest rage moments. I came across the everyone scene and was just floored. Anyways, I also saw the State Of Grace Scene with the hands, and that is what made me want to see it. I also knew that Sean Penn was in some interesting movies. And Ed Harris..Truman Show.

And I know this may be silly but those were real cigarettes and alcohol they were drinking?

P.S. If you go trying to count the cigarettes there is all sorts of things that look like smoke, such as the steam of a coffee cup or something. So its more tricky than it seems, plus it requires a lot of attention to detail.

You can say the same for Midnight Run. About a field of tobacco gave it's life for that movie.
