I think public enemy was the best gangster movie ever made. You have to see it more then once to really appreciate it.
State of Grace based loosely on the Westies a bunch of Irish drunks that we're in hells kitchen. They did not show it in the movies at least the way I remember it but they loved to wearing buckskin.
They had connections with the Italians and I mean a lot of Italians.
There was one guy IRA that came to the US to hide out. They asked another crew to give him a job. He drove a cab but before long he was dealing heroin and doing hits. He lived in Belle Harbor which is like Copland. Then one day he just disappeared. He had a temper then you dealing with people who also have tempers sometimes the *beep* hits the fan.
Oh I don't know much about the movie business. Evidently the company that produced the movie paid the actors salary but neglected to pay the federal taxes.
So most if not all the actors owed thousands of dollars in back taxes to the federal government. I think the company Arian something like that went out of business.
