What if Rocky Fought Tommy in the Boxing Ring

So alternate ending...What if at the Bar Rocky tells Tommy he will meet him in the ring for a professional boxing match?? Let say Duke trains Rocky for 5 months for the fight. Does Rocky Win? Or would Tommy Win?

I ask, because when Tommy knocked Rocky down in the street fight, Rocky was down for more than 10 seconds.. In a boxing match I could def see Rocky starting the fight like he did in both Clubber fights of Rocky 3 where he just comes out and starts pounding on Tommy, but if Tommy fights back and get some good hits in and Rocky goes down, with his brain damage would he get up in 10 seconds? If he had enough training could he knock Tommy out in 1 to 2 rounds? Or would Tommy Win it since no matter how good Rocky was, the brain damage just would limit his ability to fight for long?

Tommy destroys him. In real life, when it comes to anything physical - youth wins. It's that simple. There is no way any former heavyweight champion can beat a current heavyweight champion 20 years younger. Look what happened to Muhammad Ali when he got in the ring with Larry Holmes. And Holmes was only seven years younger (closer to 8). Actually, more realistically, look what happened when Larry Holmes tried to beat Mike Tyson. Holmes had 16 1/2 years on Tyson. Holmes was destroyed. Same thing would have happened to Rocky Balboa.

True. But obviously this is Rocky universe which is very non realistic lol. Which is why I ask the fun question, but also between the time Rocky fights Drago and his Street Fight with Tommy. It seems a few years have gone by. I mean from Returning to the States to all that happened in Rocky 5, I would say minimum 2 years have passed. So even with Training, Rocky is past his prime.

Well, yes of course, if we are talking "Rocky" world instead of real word - Rocky wins.

Probably the way it would go, scripted of course, is since Rocky spent a lot of time training Tommy Gunn - when he gets in the ring with him, he outsmarts him. As the old saying goes - "I taught you everything you know, but I didn't teach you everything I know", hahahahaha. That's probably how it would have went in the script, with Rocky taking him out relatively early.

Yeah, but again, I'm glad we are in agreeance. In real life, Rocky would get destroyed inside of two rounds.

In the Rocky universe I could see the Tommy and Rocky fight ending like the fight in Rocky 1 or Rocky 2. But of course in the real world like jacotodd47 said Rocky would get knocked out.

To david80848688 - yeah, the only problem I have with that is - I mean it would be beyond preposterous to think Rocky could go 15 rounds. Even for the "Rocky" universe it is beyond preposterous. That's why I said Rocky would take him out early - probably in 3 rounds (like "Rocky 3").

Of course, for the sake of a movie a 15 round slug fest would be interesting. Maybe that's the way SLy would have written it. WHo knows????

You know I've made all these comments in this thread and it just hit me - there actually was a time when a former Heavyweight champion beat a younger and current Heavyweight champion. George Foreman was 18 (closer to 19) years older than Michael Moorer. Foreman knocked him flat in round 10.

However, as far as I know, that was a once in history occurrence.
