And it wasn't as terrible as I thought. Yes, it's the weakest when compared to the previous 4 films, but at least it had some good stuff like returning to the original's roots, the sentimental theme of family and the final battle in the end of the movie was very memorable as it took place in the streets as opposed to the wrestling ring in the previous movies. What ruins it for me though, is that the main villain who manipulates Tommy is so fucking one-note (seriously Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago were way better) and it lacks the spark of the first two Rocky movies because of the script that contained over-shouty moments. Just an OK movie, though.

THAT'S FAIR...I PRETTY MUCH AGREE...THE MOMENT WHEN MICKEY URGES STALLONE TO GET BACK UP AND FUCK TOMMY'S SHIT UP IS TOP TIER ICONIC MOMENTS FOR ME...OTHERWISE IT IS DISTINCTLY FIFTH BEST.

yes end street fight is my second favorites fight of rocky saga after rocky 4. it is epics. rocky doing street fighter moves hahahah.

it is good to hear more rocky fan who are warm up to rocky 5. it is good sequels with lots of heart and does not deserve the hate it get from fanboy.

So far I've seen only the first five Rocky movies, this included. Here's my ratings.

Rocky 1976: 10/10
Rocky II 1979: 9/10
Rocky III 1982: 7.5/10
Rocky IV 1985 (I have yet to check out the director's cut though I've heard it's good): 7/10
Rocky V 1990: 6.5/10

i agree with ratings for rocky 1 and 2!

but i give give 9/10 for rocky 3 and 4 and 8/10 for rocky 5.

i do not recommence rocky balboa as much it is mediocre.

the creed movie are not rocky film they are spin off and they are shit. if you see anyone rating creed film alongside original 5 rocky films then ignore these people as they do not know anything about rocky movies!!

The prequels had their flaws too such as the dialogue being weak notably Attack of the Clones, but at least Revenge of the Sith felt like a Star Wars movie

ok no problems moviebooker.

me personal i do not like prequel because i dont think it have any likable character. i do not relate to anakin like i do luke in original sagas. anakin not likable. if you have unlikable lead i lose interest in film!!

but i respect people who like prequel because i understand why they like. very good action in prequel. geoge lucas very good editer - his films never slow. move at good pace never boring. this is important to me as movie watcher as i can not stand slow film with no storys.

Yeah, balboa is so mid. The series ends with Rocky V.

I understand your opinion. It's just that the villain in Rocky 5 to me is just a one note manipulative douche who cares about making profits by using a boxing champion. At least Clubber Lang, in spite of his over the top performance, had a passion of fighting Rocky because of his legacy.

I refused to watch this film for years after seeing it when it first came out. Maybe three or four years ago now I finally watched it as part of the Rocky box set I got and I also found it not to be as bad as I'd thought.

Do you mean that Don King send up guy as the main villain? If so, yes, he's pretty cartoonish and doesn't help this film at all. Nor does Rocky / Stallone's son who was awful.

I'm not sure if maybe I softened towards this film though as it pretty much lays the groundwork (back to his roots / the old neighborhood without money) for Rocky Balboa which is an incredible late entry in the series.
